Season 8Keith: I cannot believe I let him get to me.
Karen: So did I. I guess we both should know better by now.
Keith: Yeah, but you should… you should be able to… count on me. It’s like I can see the guy I am in my head, and I can see the guy that I wanna be, and they’re just… it’s not the same.
Karen: That’s okay, Keith. I like who you are. And I do count on you—more than you know. … Can I tell you a secret?
Keith: Sure.

Lucas: “Do not let your fire go out, spark by irreplaceable spark, in the hopeless swamps of the not quite, the not yet, and the not at all. Do not let the hero in your soul perish in lonely frustration for the life you deserved and have never been able to reach. The world you desire can be won. It exists. It is real. It is possible. It is yours.”

[Nathan is coming out of the bathroom, having just showered. Dan calls after him to stop him.]
Dan: Nathan.
Nathan: What’s up, Dad?
[Dan moves Nathan’s towel and sees his nipple piercing.]
Dan: If I wanted a daughter, I’d adopt one.
Nathan: What, so you could abandon her, too? … Just a joke, Dad.
Dan: Yeah. And this bet tonight, is that a joke, too? Or would you really quit the team, because let’s be honest, you have everything to lose here and nothing to gain.
Nathan: Well, sometimes what you call everything, I call nothing.
Dan: I just think it’s best if you don’t do this, Nathan. We’ll find another way.
Nathan: No. Dad, I do a lot of stuff for you. Almost everything. But I’m gonna do this for me.
[He walks away from Dan and down the hallway. Peyton emerges from the bathroom and follows, wrapped in a towel. She calls back over her shoulder.]
Peyton: Hi, Mr. Scott.1x01 Pilot
